" Nature never makes hates; her systems revolve at an even pace"
-This quote is saying, that no matter how hard life is and how much you have to work, nature will always be there. It doesn't hate for things you can't do, or things you shouldn't have done, and it always works at your pace. If you become sick, nature stays the same when you get back on your feet, it doesn't change, itdoesn't surprise you, by being more moved ahead than you can take. Nature never turns it's back on you, it never hurts you, and it never lets you be alone, because no matter how hard you work for something, or how lonely you feel, you will always have the company of nature.
"The Wise man is restful, never restless or impatient"
-This quote says that the wisest man is only the man, who has had the most sleep, for durring his waking hours, he is fully awake and hasd full understanding of the world around him. If a wise man gets little sleep although he may be very smart, durring his waking hours he spends more time tired, and less time fully understanding whats going on around him. Although many men can be geniuses, that function better then rested for there brain is most fucused and not of day dreaming.

Henry David Thoreau
"The millions are awake enough for physical labor; but only one in a million is awake enough for effective intellectual exertion, only one in a hundred million to a poetic or divine life."
-I think this quote mean that although every morning millions of people are awake physically they are not awake mentally, meaning that when people get up in the morning it seems easier for them to go run a mile then to be able to think about something throughly and be able to find a solution to a problem. Only one out of a hundred million people are able to wake up and have the same mind set as poet, because not many people are able to have enough energy to think about a solution to a problem, let alone go to the extream of being able to think like a poet.
"We must learn to reawaken and keep ourselves awake, not by mechanical aids, but by an infinite expection of the dawn, which does not for sake us in our soundest sleep."
-This quote means, when the sun rises so should the man, for the day has just begun. The man however should not use medications to wake himself such as an alarm, or to keep him awake, but only by the nature. He should be well rested and wake up with the sun. It is hard for the man to wake himself so early, if he has no purpose to get him up.

Goals for the Term
This term in American lit. I hope to find a good understanding of the subject. I also love writters and love to be able to quote them.I also want to have a better understanding of how different American writers write. My favorite American Author is Henry David Thoreau, whom I quote all the time and refer to him in every day life.
